October 28th, 2026 — 17:00 - 18:00

Description

Automation, digital platforms and changing labour markets are reshaping the skills that people and organisations need. Innovation spaces are taking on a broader role in build future-ready talent pipelines, from strengthening professional capabilities among ecosystem intermediaries to helping researchers, workers and young people adapt to new opportunities through intentional talent development and inclusive skilling frameworks.

Three initiatives will ground the discussion with practical strategies for workforce transformation. Thailand’s “Human Catalyst” model uses a four-pillar competency framework to professionalise innovation intermediaries across national science parks, state enterprises and global development programmes. Saudi Arabia’s ARC Program at KACST helps researchers move from academic knowledge production towards market-aligned venture creation through customer discovery and mentorship. In Kenya, Konza Technopolis uses its decentralised Jitume model to extend cloud infrastructure into rural hubs, expanding access to digital skills and gig-economy opportunities.
