Autostrada Biennale, Kosovo

Leutrim Fishekqiu is the Co-founder and Executive Director of Autostrada Biennale and Autostrada Hangar – Center for Contemporary Art. Born in 1987 in Prishtina, Kosovo, he lives and works between Prishtina and Prizren. His background is in visual arts, with a practice focused on the interconnection between art, architecture, public space and ecology. His work explores how site-specific artistic and architectural interventions can create collective experiences and bring communities together.

In recent years, he has focused on developing Autostrada Biennale as the first international contemporary art biennale in Kosovo. Alongside the biennale, he has developed Autostrada Hangar within a former KFOR military base, now the Innovation and Training Park (ITP) Prizren, as a space for education, artistic production, exhibitions, residencies and collaborative cultural practices.
