Roeland Buckinx is Manager of Health Campus Limburg DC (Belgium), and serves as Strategic Expert Life Sciences at POM Limburg and Policy Advisor at Hasselt University. Health Campus Limburg DC is a health innovation area developed by POM Limburg and Hasselt University that brings together academia, healthcare organizations, industry, and government to accelerate innovation and improve healthcare quality.
Roeland holds a Master’s degree and PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Hasselt University and a Master’s degree in public governance & leadership from Antwerp Management School. Following research appointments at Hasselt University, Sorbonne University in Paris and the University of Antwerp, he transitioned into higher education and innovation policy.
His work focuses on building innovation ecosystems at the intersection of health, science, entrepreneurship, and regional development. In addition to his roles in Limburg, he serves as Academic Director of the Executive Master in Public Governance at Antwerp Management School, where he contributes to executive education and public sector leadership development.
Combining expertise in biomedical sciences, innovation management, and public governance, Roeland works to strengthen collaboration between academia, healthcare, industry, and government to generate societal and economic impact.
