Dr. Martti Launonen is an internationally recognised expert in innovation ecosystems and STPs, with experience from more than 300 innovation ecosystem development projects across over 30 countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, and Oceania. He is the Founder and CEO of Hubconcepts, a global framework for developing innovation ecosystems and hubs, and Co-Founder and Chairman of Leapicon, a platform for continuous capability development for individuals, organisations, and innovation ecosystems.
Dr. Launonen holds a Doctor of Industrial Management degree and has advised governments, ministries, universities, STPs, innovation districts, and companies on designing and strengthening innovation ecosystems. From 1999 to 2009, he served as Vice President of Technopolis Plc, one of the leading STP companies in the Nordic-Baltic region, where he contributed to the development of internationally recognised STPs and innovation ecosystems.
He is the author of Hubconcepts™ – The Global Best Practice for Managing Innovation Ecosystems and Hubs (2011). His current work focuses on helping STPs and innovation ecosystems strengthen collaboration, build innovation capacity, and accelerate continuous capability development.
