Dr. Suriyah Thongmunee is the Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Park (STeP) at Chiang Mai University and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. With over a decade of experience in civil engineering and facility management, he oversees laboratories and pilot plants, focusing on infrastructure, technology transfer, and transforming research into market-ready innovations. His work fosters collaboration among academia, industry, government, and communities.

 

At the 42nd IASP World Conference on Science Parks and Areas of Innovation in Beijing, China, 2025, Dr. Thongmunee will present “High-quality economic development empowered by innovation spaces: A case study of STeP CMU,” sharing how STeP CMU leverages the quadruple helix model, advanced infrastructure, and structured mechanisms to drive technology commercialization and sustainable growth. Outside work, he enjoys exploring new cultures to broaden his perspective on global innovation ecosystems.
