IASP 2027
We’re excited to announce the three candidates shortlisted by the IASP International Board of Directors to host the 2027 IASP World Conference. All candidates will be in Beijing during the 42nd IASP World Conference to present their bids in person to fellow IASP members, but in the meantime, you can see an overview of the three destinations to give you a taste of what each has to offer.
The potential destinations (listed alphabetically) are:
Chiang Mai, Thailand – Chiang Mai University Science and Technology Park
The bid from Chiang Mai University Science and Technology Park highlights Chiang Mai’s innovation ecosystem, a pivotal innovation hub in Northern Thailand that bridges academic research with industry applications. It collaborates with 13 universities under the Regional Science Park, North (RSP, North) platform to provide comprehensive solutions for enterprises. Its mission is to offer inclusive platforms that connect academic, private, government and community sectors, facilitating the development of products, processes and services through science, technology and innovation.
Dhahran, Saudi Arabia – Dhahran Techno Valley
Established in 2001, Dhahran Techno Valley is pivotal in the Middle East’s research and innovation, especially in energy and sustainability. Home to over 30 entities including major corporations, the park has successfully facilitated over 950 technology transfers and houses significant R&D facilities, making it a beacon of innovation in the region.
Norrköping, Sweden – Norrköping Science Park
Norrköping science park (NOSP) is a leading centre for innovation in deep tech. The park is dedicated to connecting academia, industry, and government to achieve sustainable development and green innovation. It hosts innovation clusters and growth hubs focusing on printed electronics, energy storage and smart solutions.
Members to select winner at General Assembly
The final decision on the host for the 2027 World Conference will be made through a member vote during the General Assembly on 18th September at our upcoming World Conference in Beijing.
