September 19th, 2025 — 9:30

This session explores innovation ecosystems through two complementary perspectives on industrial development and policy implementation.

The first, from Beijing Business Incubation Association and Beijing Normal University, decodes the essence, components, and main characteristics of industrial incubation, demonstrating through case studies how various operational models positively impact emerging industries’ growth.

The second examines the evolution of New York State’s Office of Innovation and Startup (OIS) ecosystem over recent decades, highlighting significant policy advancements and findings from comprehensive surveys of NYS innovation initiatives alongside best-practice case studies.

You’ll gain theoretical frameworks for understanding industrial incubation as well as practical insights from a major state’s long-term innovation ecosystem development, offering valuable lessons for policymakers, economic developers, and innovation practitioners seeking to encourage emerging industry growth.
