Cristina Andrés Urarte is a multilingual economist with over 20 years of experience driving economic and business growth in the Basque Country. 

She is currently Head of Corporate Marketing and Innovation at the Basque Country Technology Park, where she leads strategies in marketing, innovation, and market intelligence to support business growth and attract key high-tech players to the ecosystem. She has previously held positions as Director of Innovation at Bizkaia Science and Technology Park, a pioneer in Spain and an international benchmark in the field. 

 

With extensive experience in the science and technology park industry and a strong international background, Cristina has consistently acted as a catalyst for innovation. Throughout her career, she has acted as a bridge between innovation ecosystems, creating value and fostering global connections. She brings a clear strategic vision of innovation as a driver of leadership, regional development, and national competitiveness. 

 

At the institutional level, she serves as President of the Basque College of Economists — the first woman to hold this position — and as Deputy Secretary of the General Council of Economists, where she works to strengthen the profession and promote ethical and forward-thinking economic leadership. 

 

A graduate in Business Administration and Management, she has completed her training with an MBA (Best Master Thesis award), a Master in Business Competitiveness Management, and a Master in Marketing. Her passion for learning has taken her to leading innovation ecosystems in Boston, Shanghai, Cambridge, Florence, and Barcelona. She is fluent in six languages. 

 

Cristina is deeply committed to economic and social transformation through innovation and knowledge, and is recognized as a key figure in regional and institutional development.
