Juan A. Bertolín, PhD is Managing Director of Espaitec, the Science and Technology Park of Universitat Jaume I, and General Manager of its governing entity, the General Foundation of the University. He is a leading expert in fostering university–industry collaboration, supporting entrepreneurship throughout its lifecycle, and designing impactful innovation strategies grounded in the quadruple helix framework.

Dr. Bertolín holds a PhD in Local Development and International Cooperation, with a dissertation titled “Science and Technology Parks as driving agents of Territorial Development within the ecosystem of Areas of Innovation”. His research offers a systemic and applied vision of how STPs can catalyze smart regional development and cross-innovation dynamics.

With a background in physics, business management, and organizational dynamics, his professional career spans international ICT and innovation projects at Accenture, Grupo IT Deusto, and in multiple global networks. He has held leadership and advisory roles in IASP, ENOLL, the European Commission (DG REGIO), and the Triple Helix Association. He is a regular speaker and contributor to international forums on innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurial universities, and living labs.
