Sarfraz A. Mian is a SUNY Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship and Management Policy at the State University of New York, Oswego, USA. A global thought leader in business incubation and acceleration, science parks, and entrepreneurial ecosystems, Dr. Mian is widely recognized for pioneering research on university-linked incubation mechanisms. Over three decades, he has conducted comparative studies across North America, Europe, Asia, and South America, earning top worldwide rankings in scholarly impact. His extensive scholarly work has appeared in professional journals, books, and keynote speeches. He has served in leadership roles for major academic organizations, the Academy of Management, and INFORMS. Mian held visiting faculty positions in the U.S., Germany, and Pakistan. He has consulted with OECD, USAID, VINNOVA, and HEC, and has led Pakistan’s GEM studies (2010–14). Mian earned his PhD and MBA from George Washington University and an MS in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University.
